Lens No.1896 for Fostex T96A

Lens No.1896 is a special horn lens that replaces the front half of the Fostex T96A bullet style super tweeter. The existing screws are used to secure the new horn lens making assembly straightforward and quick. 

The new horn lens uses the ES horn flare curvature to improve on-axis frequency response smoothness as well as improving off-axis consistency in regards to the on-axis response. The design controls the coverage to a fixed 90 degree listening window to match the off-axis characteristics of the rest of the speaker system's response off-axis. 

The stock tweeter, although excellent sounding, uses diffraction to widen the off-axis coverage in a very narrow part of the frequency bandwidth. Horn lens No.1896 eliminates the diffraction method and uses a smooth horn flare geometry to reduce acoustical reflections and resonances that harm clarity.
