Speaker System No.3154 is a 10" 2-way Back Loaded Horn Speaker designed for maximum sensitivity in a reasonable form factor. Providing effortless dynamics, palpable and nuanced bass that will truly activate the air in your listening space. With a full 100dB* of bass output from a single watt of power, you can be guaranteed maximum performance from your low power amplifier.

The back loaded horn cabinet design is inspired by the Nagaoka designs which gained prominence in Japan in the 1980's. These cabinet designs differed from the classic JBL 'scoop' designs by having a much longer horn path length, deepening the bass extension, making more suitable for consumer audio where full bandwidth is required. This exclusive Joseph Crowe BLH design was first simulated using AJ Horn software, which is able to simulate not only the horn response based on throat area, mouth area, horn length, and flare rate, but also can factor in other variables such as throat damping. This particular aspect is crucial to fine tuning the subjective sound character.

Bass Extension 

Bass extension is characterized as flat to 40Hz using a -3dB downpoint (F3) with 25Hz being -10dB Down (F10). The response graph below is the REW in-room response with the speakers placed 1m from the front wall and 2m from the side wall. Mic distance is 2m.
