What's New at Crowe

I would like to share what's been happening here at Crowe for this year so far. We started the off the year exhibiting at Montreal Audiofest. It was such a huge success that I've witnessed a significant increase in brand recognition for Crowe. The Stereophile Interview and Blue Note Awards for best of show, seemed to be the last 'check box' in people's minds on the over-arching question on sound quality.

When I started the business eight years ago we had an intense focus on objective measurement which was really the only way to portray to customers our technical prowess, and 'hopefully' the corresponding sound quality. But the question lingered in many customer's minds... "how does it sound?". The Toronto and Montreal Audiofest put that to rest with dozens of social media and forum posts gushing poetic on what they heard. 

We exhibited Speaker System No.2087 at the Montreal Audiofest. This specific pair has been sold since the summer of 2025! The customer was gracious enough to let us use the speaker system for the two shows while his new house was being constructed. Since I didn't have to sell off old inventory, this gave opportunity to introduce a newly revised design of the 2087 called Sigma 3320 to any prospecting customers. The new Sigma Speaker System No.3320 uses the same drivers as the 2087 but with a more aesthetically pleasing package. The 3320 system uses our newly developed Sigma Horn which is a further improvement from the ES-Biradial horn technology which started the company. This is a very significant product leap and the general reception on the overall appearance has been very positive! I've covered some of the technical aspects of the Sigma Horn in a blog post. The 3320 Sigma system will be followed by more compact versions, and the 2087 is currently now discontinued. I plan to publish a dedicated Sigma 3320 design deep dive soon. 

Currently we have two orders for the Speaker System No.3320 which we are well under way constructing. Both of these orders are for customers in Europe.

As part of our trade-in program, I have a pair of slightly used 2800 Speakers available to buy. Our trade-in speakers go through rigorous testing along with any refinishing needed to bring them to back to 'like new' condition.

Electronics 

I was happy to ship off our first Preamplifier No.2310, which I hand built myself. The preamplifiers itself was a pleasure to construct. I spent countless hours fully modelling the preamp in 3D CAD, carefully optimizing every component for the shortest signal path. In the end, I really personally enjoyed seeing this come together, and I was upset when I finally had to ship it. The hardwood front and elegant appearance will mean real pride of ownership.

Even the power supply is dual mono, point to point, and mounted to 6mm aluminum plate. The power supply section is completely isolated in a 3mm thick aluminum enclosure (not shown).

I thought I would show off this clean spectrum while testing the preamplifier, a single 1kHz test tone and virtucally nothing else down to the noise floor of my Cosmo ADC. 
In all the excitement I completely forgot to get decent finished product photos. All I have is this photo of the preamp on the assembly bench. I really love the amber display contrasted with the bezel and hardwood. 
The customer flew from Czechia to hear the preamp before taking final delivery. He thought the preamp sounded truly phenomenal. 
Also, we have a Nighthawk build nearing completion this week!
