Hommage Cinema Auditorium 23 Field Coil Speakers

Purchased in 2016 and in excellent condition.

These speakers are located in Picton Ontario and can be auditioned by appointment. We have excellent upstream gear that can truly represent the full capability of these speakers.

-Line Magnetic 555 mid-frequency Field Coil compression driver covers 200Hz-2kHz with folded hardwood horn.
-Line Magnetic 597 Field Coil high frequency horn (side mounted)

The bass cabinet houses both a mid-bass driver and a bass driver. Both drivers are powered by an internal plate amplifier running in class AB. The low pass filters for the midbass and bass are done electronically (analogue) inside the plate amp. There are individual level adjustments for midbass and bass.

The high pass filter for the midrange and high frequency horn is housed inside the bass cabinet. The high pass filters are all first order using oil filled capacitors.

The Line Magnetic field coil compression drivers are accurate reproduction units of the renowned Western Electric W555 and 597 from the 1940’s. The field coils are powered by a solid state power supply by Acoustic Plan NT1 (hand made in Germany). Voltage is adjustable using the front control knobs and displayed on the digital display. I would be happy to provide a shipping quote as we have the commercial shipping crates which are heavily constructed from plywood and 2” thick foam lining. Shipping is by DHL and we use air tag trackers.

Due to the very high sensitivity of this speaker we suggest use of low power single ended triode amplification, along with low noise, particularly AC Maine hum. These speakers require about 1 or 2 watts to run even in a large listening space.
